Can't really put an exact figure on that due to the nature of auctions. However, I'd say it's going to be less...and that might STILL be too much!

Understand that auto auctions are far too often the place that "undesirable" vehicles go. That '87 Ford Piecer your buddy traded in for a new car last week? Unless it's pristine and low mileage, the dealership won't turn around and put it on their "pre-owned" lot, they'll send it off to auction and get whatever they can out of it. Almost all of the fly-by-night used car dealerships you see get their cars from auctions, so that should tell you something!

Bear that in mind should you decide to go the auction route.
