Umm, owning a car costs money, for insurance, gas, brakes, tires, etc. you will be paying alot more than 300 bucks so you might as well pay at least a bit more than that.

On the far right of this site it tells you when the next auction is in Dublin. http://www.acauction.com/catalog.htm At this one they are held on the first sat. of each month with previews about a day before.
